Cashman Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, family owned, independent small animal veterinary hospital in Cork city.
We are looking for a small animal vet to work 3 to 5 shifts at our main Glanmire branch.
Shifts are typically 8 hours (8.30 to 4.30 or 11 to 7)

Fully stocked hospital We have lots of nice "toys" including DR x-ray, an Esoate ultrasound machine, tonopen, portable pulse oximiters and BP machines for in patients, anaesthetic monitors ( ecg, capnography BP Pulse ox) as well as in house lab facilities including urinalysis and cytology.
Exceptional support from our external lab for any complicated or challenging cases, or urgent samples.
Scheduling Our routine appointments are scheduled at 30 minute intervals to allow for the unexpected emergencies or sick patients. We also schedule admin and call back slots during the day- this means theres no need to stay late writing records or doing call backs. The final half hour of every shift is usually scheduled for catch up - ensuring you finish on time!
No out of hours Our out of hours is covered by a highly skilled, reliable dedicated ER centre
A well supported team This includes a dedicated practice manager to process all insurance, billing and passport issues. Full time dedicated reception staff ensure smooth customer service, and prevent our vets being over burdened with administrative chores.
Highly qualified RVNs and animal care assistants ensure your patients are looked after to the highest standards possible.
Integrated soft ware: Our management systems make writing records and reviewing patient files simple and easy- and quick!
Rostering: Our work load is divided in to early shifts and late shifts- this allows us to attend our personal appointments ( such as physios, dentist doctors etc) with out missing work or searching for those rare late evening appointments. It also allows us to finish before rush hour traffic on our early days A win win !
VDS and VCI fees are paid for by the hospital.
Pay reviews: Take place once per year
CPD Is actively supported and funded, with all staff completing a course or CPD block each year.
Location: We are only ten minutes away from the city center while also being a stones throw from the motor way - perfect for after work adventures. The ideal candidate will have
- A keen interest in medicine
- Enjoy working up cases and comfortable requesting diagnostics
- Strong communication skills.
- Good time management skills
- Positive out look and can do attitude
